Housing Support Worker – Queen Street
Salary: Grade B: Starting salary is £20,475 per annum. (The band goes up to £22,050 per annum, however, this is dependent on annual performance reviews).

We have an exciting opportunity to join an established charity as we expand our work into a new location, and open a brand new project. The Project provides accommodation and support to Ukrainian refugees who are leaving the Homes For Ukraine Scheme; either coming to the end of their 6 month period with host families, or seeking a different kind of accommodation for them and their families.
Working in a project supporting 7 families, you would be part of a small team, within the support network of a wider established department. The role is for a Housing Support Worker, who will provide holistic support to residents in areas such as employment, health, housing, welfare, money management, as well as develop a sense of community within the project and ensure the building provides a safe, secure home for those being supported. Though not an essential requirement, we welcome applicants who are fluent in Ukrainian.
You should be compassionate and inclusive, with an awareness of the discrimination and challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers, and a strong commitment to improving the quality of support and services available to them. Ideally the successful candidate would have experience of working in supported housing or supporting groups considered vulnerable, including experience of health and safety, finances, needs and risk assessment, safeguarding. You need to be a good listener and a self-starter who can work independently as well as within a team.
