Margaret Lawson

Margaret Lawson joined us in July 2019. She initially studied Modern Languages and then worked as a secondary school teacher in Reading, teaching German and French for 3 years.

Margaret then retrained as a solicitor and worked in private practice for Ward Hadaway for about 25 years, specialising in commercial disputes.

After that she became a Lecturer in Law at Northumbria University before moving to London in 2011.

Since that time she has volunteered extensively, first in London and then in the North East and most recently as a job coach for Junction 42, a Christian charity which supports ex-offenders.

Margaret is an active Christian and church member, involved in various aspects of the life of Holy Trinity Church in Jesmond.

She sings in the Newcastle Bach Choir, enjoys keeping fit by going to regular fitness classes and doing long distance walks such as the South West Coastal Path, and loves going to the cinema, especially to see foreign language films.
