Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of our Service Users, supporting young people and preparing them for increased independence? Do you have experience of working in supported housing projects with young people?
Our new Southwark contract provides supported accommodation to young people experiencing homelessness. The main office of the project is situated at No.3 Peckham with a number of satellite offices across the Borough. The service provides support, housing and resettlement services for young people in Southwark who have the status of being looked after children or care leavers, or young people at risk of homelessness.
The primary age group is 16-21, however individuals are accepted up to the age of 25 on a case by case basis.
To join us you will need to demonstrate a holistic approach to support, and an understanding of the pressures facing young people, particularly those linked to homelessness. You will have the ability to engage and motivate young people, to use your initiative and work flexibly in a demanding environment.
In return you will benefit from a supportive, creative environment and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills. We are passionate about our staff and believe in caring for them in the same ways we care about our service users. We are a growing charity and don’t have the resource to provide fancy staff perks: however we are really good at the things money can’t buy. We believe staff are the foundation stone to the success of the charity and so we do everything we can to make sure they feel valued, supported, engaged and developed. We welcome applicants from all faiths or none, but it is important that all employees understand and sympathise with the Christian ethos of Oasis Community Housing.
This role will involve supporting both female and male young people so is open to female and male applicants.
Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and DBS Enhanced Disclosure.
Closing date for applications is at 5:00pm on 8th October 2021
