Wellbeing Coach (Aspire Team)

 

Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland and South Tyneside

Salary: £19,500 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday (12 month initial fixed-term contract with potential for extension subject to funding being secured) 

Job Purpose: This is a new full-time role and an exciting opportunity to join our Aspire Team to make a real difference to the lives of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. You will use your knowledge of wellbeing theories to shape a programme of activities and interventions to reflect the different priorities, interests and motivations of participants. This will include responsibility for our new urban garden project in Gateshead. The aim is to support people to build the resilience and confidence needed to take the next steps of their journey towards volunteering or further training, learning or employment.

 You will carry a designated caseload and work with colleagues and in multi-agency partnerships across our community projects in Gateshead and Sunderland. Using your coaching and mentoring skills, you will ensure that people receive the right support at the right time, feel connected to community support networks and in control of their progress. You will recruit and line manage a small team of volunteers and peer mentors to assist you. 

Oasis Community Housing, is a Christian charity responding to homelessness and disadvantage, working with people of all faiths and none, providing housing, employability support and other specialised services to develop life skills that will enable people to live successful independent lives. 

Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references, meeting essential criteria and Enhanced DBS (dependent on role).
