Volunteer Church Champion
Are you a Christian who is active in your church? Want to do something about homelessness in your community? Looking for volunteer experience?
We’re looking for enthusiastic Church Champion volunteers to be the connection between their church and Oasis Community Housing to create deeper and more meaningful relationship, as well as inspire support.
The Role
What we ask of you as an Oasis Community Housing Church Champion:
- To spare 3-4 hours of time to volunteer (suggested, no fixed time commitment).
- Organise collections and fundraising events throughout the year through your church where possible.
- Share upcoming opportunities, and information about our work with your church community.
- Sign up to our free monthly newsletter.
- Feedback insights from within the church community – what causes are important to your church?
- Rally volunteer support for upcoming events.
- Help distribute printed materials including flyers and posters for events and key appeals, a calendar of events etc. to members of your church.
- Share our social media posts to extend our reach and increase our brand awareness in the community.
Then support we will provide:
- Introductory coffee/phone call with Community Fundraising Lead to discuss the role.
- Monthly catch ups with Community Fundraising lead.
- A volunteer handbook including advice on how to engage your church and key dates.
- WhatsApp group for volunteers where we can share resources, stories, social media posts to interact with.
