Visiting our drop-ins

Our drop-in resource centres are open for advice, practical support and signposting to other helpful local authority and charity services. We are open Monday to Friday from 9am. If you call outside of opening hours, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Drop-in facilities include: showers; washing machines; toilets; fresh clothes; left luggage;
making/receiving calls; hot drinks.

At Basis Gateshead, a nurse clinic is held on Tuesday and Thursday (9:30am – 1:30pm) and is open to everyone on a first-come first-served basis. A doctor is also available in the drop-in on Wednesday mornings.

You may also be able to access short-term emergency accommodation through our Gateshead-based The 58:7 Project.

Letting us know about someone sleeping rough

If you are concerned an adult who you have seen sleeping rough in England or Wales, contact StreetLink via their website or download the app. These details are sent to the local authority or outreach service for the area – including our outreach team in the North East – to help find the individual and get them support.
