Crisis services
Our crisis services are the bedrock of our North East homelessness support for people who are rough sleeping and have nowhere else to go.
4,793 people estimated to be sleeping rough across England every night
Our outreach team conducts early morning outreach most mornings of the week across Gateshead and South Tyneside, supporting people who are rough sleeping.
The basis of our crisis services is our Gateshead drop-in centre for anyone rough sleeping or in housing crisis, open weekdays. Here we provide food and drinks, showers, fresh clothes, housing support and advice, as well as a nurse clinic on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Find out more about our homeless drop-in >
For people stuck in the cycle of homelessness, our Housing First team helps people find a home and provides tailored trauma-informed support seven days a week, working across Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside.
The team has been very supportive and helped me in ways unimaginable, and I can’t wait to also give back the support and kindness they offered me in my time of need.
